In the narrative of David’s victories we read of his quest to find any relatives of Saul who have survived. Here David shows kindness to Saul’s family in spite of all the hostility that had come from Saul. It also was a way of honouring his friend Jonathan.
Kindness which David shows gives the recipients a glimpse of the grace of God. We have received such a great gift from God in that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us (Romans 5:8). Are there people in our lives who we can show the love of Christ to by extending kindness like David did to Mephibosheth?
