ABOUT FAQs

Frequently Asked Questions

If you have questions about attending McKernan Baptist Church that aren't answered here, feel free to call the office Monday - Friday (8:30 - 4:30) and someone will be able to help you.

What Does The Church Believe?+

We’re a church that has at its core a desire to be in right relationship, first with God, then with one another and with our neighbours. Our prayer is that everyone experiences authentic Christ-centered community when they visit.

Learn more about what we believe along with our affiliation with the North American Baptist Conference (NAB).

Where Can I Park?+

There is a parking lot on the west side of the building that accommodates roughly 60 vehicles. A smaller lot is behind the church and is intended as a drop-off for seniors and young families as well as handicapped parking. Parking is also available in the neighbourhood surrounding the church as well as in the alley by the neighboring park.

What Activities Are There For My Children?+

We provide Nursery and Sunday School during both services (9 and 11am), from September through to June.

Daybreak is an informal drop-in for parents (Sep-June) to visit while allowing their little ones a supervised playtime with other children their age. Join us every Friday morning from 9:30 - 11:30am in the multi-purpose room (basement).

Route 56 is our monthly program for grades 5-6 where we have fun activities (sometimes off-site) and games and snacks.

For more information related to our Children's ministry or specific programs, visit McKernan Kids or email Pastor Jerilyn

Is The Building Wheelchair Accessible?+

Yes! We have an elevator accessible by the south entrance and a lift accessible at the north entrance. Please contact the church office if you have concerns about accessibility.

How Long Is A Church Service?+

Our church service typically runs about 1 hour and 20 minutes long.

Do I Have To Be A Christian To Attend?+

Absolutely not! We hope our church is an open and inviting place for anyone who's interested to come and join in a church service.

What Should I Wear?+

Come as you are! We generally are a casual church so please wear whatever you are comfortable in.

Will I Be Asked To Give Money?+

That’s a great question. If you are new to our church or just visiting, we want you to feel welcome and we do not expect you would give as a visitor. If you are regularly attending and would consider McKernan your church home, we would ask you to consider supporting the ministries of McKernan with your tithe and offering.

How Do I Change My Contact Information?+

Please contact the church office (780.436.0611, Mon – Fri, 8:30 – 4:30) to update or change your contact information.

I Am Going Through A Hard Time. Who Can I Talk To About It?+

We have many pastors and leaders who would be happy to call or meet with you to help you out. Please call the church office at 780.436.0611 or email Pastor Mike for more details.
