Proverbs 20:16-30

Reflect

As I read through today’s Scripture, verse 22 stands out to me: “Do not say, “I will repay evil”; Wait for the Lord, and He will save you.”.

Have you ever had someone do something wrong to you--cheated you, spread lies about you, accused you wrongly?

When we had that happen to us, my husband and I wanted to justify our behaviour. It felt like we wanted the whole world to know that we were innocent! And more, we wanted that person to suffer a bit too! We wanted justice to be done!

Yet we knew that God would look after it. Exodus 14:14 says, “The Lord will fight for you while you keep silent.”

Romans 12:19 says, “Never take your own revenge, beloved, but leave room for the wrath of God, for it is written, ‘Vengeance is Mine, I will repay,’ says the Lord.”

God will judge, HE will sort it out! We can relax and watch Him at work.

And that is exactly what happened. Many months later someone even apologized to us for the unjust treatment we had received.

God is faithful! Trust Him to have you covered!
