Proverbs 24:23-34
Reflect
Woven throughout the passages are opportunities to grasp that what is true for our physical life is also true of our spiritual life.
The effects of being a sluggard are seen in the property entrusted to his/her care. This can be paralleled with how a person allowing their spiritual life to be neglected is soon surrounded with weeds, thorns, and ruins.
Many of us have gone passive with our pursuit to become more like Jesus (sanctification). Perhaps thinking that the Holy Spirit will move them as required, they have not persevered in their own spiritual maturity. Friends, the Holy Spirit has moved tremendously for you to have a relationship with God (justification). Our sanctification may not appear with tongues of fire or a mighty wind. We are to continue to persevere and desire Christlikeness while recognizing that God calls us to keep growing, and it may not always look so spectacular.
The launch of this ministry year is a great time to be reminded that your spiritual growth is work, that Jesus calls you His friend, and that you have what it takes to grow to be like Him.

What are the thorns and weeds you need to tend to? What will you replace them with?
I’d love to help you advance.
